It's faster to adjust Live Filter sliders and things like that, and some of the raster tools like the Paint Mixer Brush are much faster in comparison to CPU rendering. The benchmark suggests that hardware acceleration is mostly used for raster loads though, so you're not missing out on much performance if your work is mostly vector based.
