I m switching to pixlr, it did my 90% jobs. Actually those software are making me give up linux<span>😆</span> Another pain in the ass is wayland support in linux world.<br>

Maybe take a look at harmonyOS PC this year, they do have a nice native painting app already even they just start up.

i agree but i still think open source on this front since a software you bought for windows XP might not work anymore on your windows 10 machine, if it was open source it would likely still be somewhat maintained and would run on win10

Yeah..I think you are not an Asian user so you never need an input method <span>😆</span></p><p>

There is still issue between gnome and the largest community chromium/electron, so we can't work with any input method in electron-based wayland apps .</p><p>
|

Plasma 5.27 fixed the issue by a third party PR last year, but electron apps such as vscode is randomly crash due to some wayland decoration bugs..</p><p>

Also the bugs about drag&drop between xwayland and wayland..

Also for some reason it can't 'see' my nvidia 1650Ti graphics chip, just the built in intel one. I did want to select that as the renderer. Not a biggie as it seems to work fine without, but be nice if I could get it working. There is a mysterious 'WARP' listed as a rendered alongside the intel chip (which is listed twice)

I spent some time working on a good enough DXCore implementation, I just need to write some tests for it and submit a patch to Wine (if I ever find the time).

The tricky part is the OpenCL extension. Extensions are normally provided by the GPU driver, so the error message you currently get about an "unsupported device or driver" is accurate. While its technically possible for Wine to inject OpenCL extensions, it currently has no framework for doing so, and I can't find any discussion about it anywhere. To get this to work I hacked in some wrappers around similar non-sharing versions of the functions.

I've had a quick play around in Photo. It's faster to adjust Live Filter sliders and things like that, and some of the raster tools like the Paint Mixer Brush are <strong>much</strong> faster in comparison to CPU rendering. The benchmark suggests that hardware acceleration is mostly used for raster loads though, so you're not missing out on much performance if your work is mostly vector based. In terms of rendering precision, it seems about the same to me to without OpenCL (though I am developing on the latest Wine 9.12, not ElementalWarrior's 8.14 fork, so there may be differences there).
